May 30, 2025 – The Academy of Pediatric Integrative Medicine (APIM) is excited to announce the restructuring of its Academy Scholars Program in response to the growing demand for accessible, interprofessional training in integrative care and pediatric lifestyle medicine. Renamed the Academy Scholars Certificate in Integrative Pediatrics, the newly redesigned certificate program will launch in January 2026 as a six-month, fully online, introductory program—bringing the fundamentals of pediatric integrative and lifestyle medicine to a wider community of healthcare professionals.
This change significantly broadens eligibility and for the first time, licensed professionals who work with pediatric patients including advanced practice providers (advanced practice registered nurses, physician assistants), registered nurses, registered dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, and psychologists are welcome to apply. Aimed at building a more collaborative, team-based approach to pediatric care, this evolution reflects the organization’s core belief: that the future of pediatric health relies on interdisciplinary teams equipped with shared knowledge and values.

The restructured curriculum offers an introductory education in key integrative topics such as pediatric nutrition, physical activity, sleep across developmental stages, mind-body medicine, dietary supplements, whole medical systems, and creative arts therapies. The program includes self-paced CME-rich courses and monthly case-based master classes taught by expert faculty with a focus on clinical application. The entirely virtual format ensures accessibility for busy professionals, with no travel required.
This certificate program is ideal for providers who are new to pediatric integrative medicine or looking to expand their current toolkit with evidence-based, directly applicable strategies. While physicians are welcome to enroll, the certificate does not confer board eligibility, nor does it transfer to the APIM Fellowship in Pediatric Integrative Medicine. Physicians seeking advanced, board-eligible training should consider the year-long Fellowship, which includes expanded, in-depth, CME-rich coursework, seminars, mentorship, clinical integration sessions, and advanced master classes with leading experts in the field.
Applications for both the Academy Scholars Certificate in Integrative Pediatrics and APIM Fellowship will open in Summer 2025. APIM will host two informational webinars to help prospective applicants learn more—on Friday, June 6 at Noon ET, and again on Wednesday, June 25 at Noon ET.
