APIM Fellowship Training in Integrative Medicine

APIM is excited to announce the launch of our one-year APIM Fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Fully recognized by the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine & Health, completion of the APIM Fellowship confers board eligibility to sit for the national board exam through the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM).

The APIM Fellowship approaches integrative medicine through the full life cycle with a focus on prevention, pediatric integrative medicine, and thriving through adulthood. Taught by nationally and internationally recognized experts in both pediatric and adult integrative medicine, this fellowship will prepare the learner for success in both academic and community-based practice.

what we are teaching

The Curriculum

The curriculum is a culmination of rigorous, evidence-based foundational courses and covers a wide range of subjects, including nutrition, sleep, environmental medicine, physical activity, dietary supplements, complementary therapies in pediatrics, clinical applications, clinician well-being, and an array of pediatric specialty electives.

The Fellowship builds on this foundation with Master Classes taught by national and international faculty experts, Clinical Integration sessions, Case Studies, national board preparation, and individual faculty mentoring—all with a strong emphasis on skill-building and clinical application.

The program provides the unique and valuable opportunity to directly learn from leading experts in the field, while staying updated on the latest research trends.

Have Questions About the Fellowship?

  • Any physician (MD, DO) who desires the option of becoming nationally board eligible in integrative medicine through ABOIM (especially those who care for children in a Pediatric General or Pediatric Subspecialty setting, or Med-Peds physicians)
  • Family Medicine physicians (MD, DO) interested in board certification in integrative medicine through a fellowship program providing an emphasis on integrative medicine through the lifecycle

Applicants must be in active clinical practice to be considered for the fellowship.

Other licensed advanced practiced health care professionals (APPs) may be eligible for fellowship training, determined on an individualized basis, however, national board certification is only available to physicians (MD, DO) in the US at this time

Yes! We have welcomed successful students from a diverse array of countries. 

Please be aware that the APIM Fellowship provides board eligibility for only the United States National Board Exam at this time (ABOIM). 

Yes, all online course work provides AMA PRA Category-1 CME through the University of Arizona College of Medicine.  


Courses are led by a distinguished team of educators, including Dr. Hilary McClafferty, APIM Founder/CEO, Dr. Ann Ming Yeh, Associate Academy Scholar Program Director and a diverse group of nationally and internationally recognized pediatric expert faculty.

The program is designed with the working healthcare professional in mind. On average, you’ll need to dedicate 10-15 hours per week. All courses and live-class meetings are recorded for those who cannot attend live on Zoom. We also observe a Spring break and Summer break in line with typical school schedules. 

Yes, you will have ongoing access to the courses, Master Classes, and additional resources after graduating from the program. 

The APIM Fellowship tuition is $26,500.

Once accepted, a $2,000 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your seat which is applied toward your tuition.

A 10% tuition adjustment is provided for payment in full. Installment plans are available for individuals.

No, the program is entirely delivered online, eliminating the need for travel. While we may consider in-person conferences in the future, these would be separate from the core coursework. Your learning experience will encompass online courses, live (on Zoom) Master Classes with expert faculty, live (on Zoom) Clinical Integration sessions, case-presentations and review, research opportunities, and faculty mentoring.
